An absolute must for anyone who enjoys the idea of paddling in the remote wilderness, casting a line, catching huge brown trout, and relaxing on a mountain lake which can only be described as paradise! This is a fly fishing/kayaking/camping expedition for the angler looking for that out of the ordinary adventure. Sea kayaks provide an unobtrusive and pleasurable means to discover our favorite fishing spots. We kayak across Lewis Lake then paddle up the channel to Shoshone Lake. It is here in the channel, where for a couple of weeks every fall, large brown trout come out of Shoshone Lake to spawn in the shallow moving waters. This natural occurrence provides some of the best fishing anywhere in the Rocky Mountains. If you are bringing a partner who is not so engrossed in fishing, our change of campsites will inspire their desire for hiking to a geyser basin, watching wildlife in their natural habitat, or perhaps practicing their kayaking.

You don’t have to be a kayak expert or fly-fishing pro to catch lots of fish and have a great time. Your fly fishing equipment should include waders, a four to six weight rod, and sinking line, though there may be some surface action as well. Flies can be purchased locally the day prior to the trip.
